There will be an increase in local employment, plus opportunities for local business. It will also be creating new public landscaped areas and open spaces. Further long-term benefits include the investment in infrastructure, affordable housing and the project’s support of local charities.
The impact on local highways is to be minimised, however highway works early in the project are necessary to establish the site boundary and to maintain the smooth flow of traffic over the project duration.
Other works that will potentially impact the highway are: planned crane lifts, utility works and establishment of the final highway and public realm schemes.
Any road works and closures will be regularly updated through the website and our newsletter.
The site will operate within the strict noise limits and working hours prescribed by Lambeth Council.
Normal working hours are 08:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00 – 13:00 on Saturdays.
It is sometimes necessary to work outside of these limits, for critical operations, but subject to a dispensation protocol, with approval from Lambeth Council.
