Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM
As a result of the design and specifications, the residential units have all achieved design-stage Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 certification and the offices have achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating. The next stage will be to implement a monitoring framework to ensure the delivery of the final certifications post-construction.
Considerate Constructors Scheme
All our construction projects are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. Due to the success of our previous developments we have been nominated to trial the new CCS Ultra Site initiative. The concept behind the Ultra Site scheme is that the nominated project should act as industry leading example of considerate construction and encourage the supply chain to demonstrate the same values by requiring suppliers to register as Company Members of the Scheme.
Southbank Place has successfully achieved applicant status for FSC Project Certification. This means that we have demonstrated robust processes and procedures that are capable of delivering the desired outcome of Full Project FSC Certification, something that we are targeting across all of our projects. Each building will continue to be independently audited throughout construction until a final close out meeting where certification can be awarded.
In April 2013, CWC were awarded a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal for achieving five consecutive gold awards.
Four of our projects (BP4 – Crossrail – RT3 Expansion and 20 Fenchurch Street) all attained RoSPA Gold Awards, a first for CWC.
Several of our projects have also received Considerate Constructors Scheme awards for our commitment to health and safety. 20 Fenchurch Street project achieved a CCS Gold Award and received special commendation for being a runner-up in the most considerate site category. We have set ourselves a high benchmark and are committed as ever to delivering the highest levels of health and safety performance across our projects.
